another year.

strangers appear in your life as lessons; some as inspirations and others as passer-bys. they impart true wisdom, knowledge and life lessons through their exemplary speech and actions. then they part ways with you, ending the conversation with the greeting of peace, leaving an indelible mark of appreciation of life in your heart. in those moments we begin to understand life a little better. 

"be in this life as if you are stranger or a wayfarer." - hadith sahih bukhari.

we tend to seek too much of what life has to offer, almost oblivious as to what lies ahead - death. we tend to live for what is before our eyes, running away from the harsh reality of death. indeed we will be responsible for all that we do in this life, and every atom's weight of good and bad deeds will be accounted for. 

"verily the death from which you flee will surely meet you, then you will be sent back to (Allah), the All-Knower of the unseen and seen, and He will tell you what you used to do." al-jumuah 62:8.
